Why This Reference Exists
Michigan law makes many government records available to the public, but release information is not kept in one database. The Berrien County Sheriff's Office records adult jail bookings and releases. Its official lookup includes an option to search released inmates and displays a Release Date when a matching booking is found. The Michigan Department of Corrections maintains OTIS for people who entered state corrections jurisdiction, including parolees, probationers, and recently discharged people within its stated scope. MDOC field offices supervise many people after release, while the Federal Bureau of Prisons has a separate locator for federal cases. This site organizes those official release records, search paths, supervision resources, and request procedures without treating the systems as interchangeable.
